The Treehouse Starts to Emerge!

After a long winter of looking longingly at the treehouse foundation, the weather is here to start making some progress!!  Yay!

This spring I bought some locally cut and milled cedar for the decking.  Using used and local materials are a priority of mine for the treehouse and you will see them along the way!

A few days ago I screwed down the cedar for the decking facing the stream – it’s going to be such a lovely spot to relax and rejuvenate!

After screwing it all down, I put two coats of Vermont Natural Coatings penetrating sealer – a product that is made right here in Hardwick!  They use juniper from the distillery I work for part-time, which is also here in Hardwick: Caledonia Spirits!

I’ve been meeting with the builder that’s going to help me get the walls up, windows and doors in, and roof on, to go through materials and get things going in the next few weeks!  Yay!
