I don’t live in a place with a great view of the North and haven’t for a long time. There have been trees in the way I haven’t really seen active Northern Lights since the late ‘90’s when I used to commute from a server position in Stowe to Glover, late at night. They were amazing at Town Hill Rd in Wolcott and at our home on Beach Hill Rd in Glover. The Northern Lights are out tonight and I can see them through my camera, which is really cool, but not really with my bare eye, like those surreal and amazing late nights driving home in the ‘90’s. Still, the pictures are very cool!l

For the last several years, I have focused on building my business, almost to the point of obsession and hyperfocus. This is after many years of working many jobs, usually 2 to 3, and raising my kiddos. Now I technically work two jobs, but one of them is part-time, and then the rest of my time is devoted to my glamping business. All of that being said, I haven’t had much time for connecting with friends and self reflection. While I still work with my part-time job and clearly spending a lot of time developing my business, I feel like I have the space in my life to focus on myself and reflect on what’s important to me and who I am. Believe me, I know this is a huge opportunity and not one that many people can take. I think often about Maslow‘s Hierarchy of Needs and if you’re struggling to just survive, you don’t have the mental capacity to bring yourself to a higher level emotionally and spiritually. Or at least it’s very hard to. In 2026 my intention is to focus on self reflection and digging deep into who I am, as well as connecting with girlfriends, which is something that has been challenging for me in the past. Currently, it feels like the doors have opened up, and I have that opportunity, which I’m going to make the most of. Again, so much gratitude for this opportunity. What do you want to make space for this year? We are all on our own paths, and it’s all building to something amazing. We just have to listen and follow that path that is laid out for us, even when it’s not what we think it should be or on the timeline we want it to be. I am here for you on your journey and I appreciate the opportunity to share my journey with you. Here’s to a wonderful 2026!

I will say it probably wasn’t Bill’s favorite adventure together, but I will say he talked about it for a really long time afterward! It left a mark on me in ways I’m still discovering. It’s such a magical place! There’s something about temporary places — built with care, meant to melt, shaped by season and imagination — that feels deeply alive and meaningful. Here I am (in this picture!) at one of my happy places. I’m at an amazing treehouse @volcanotreehousebnb near Kilauea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. Most of my selfies I have what I call “resting sad face” 😂 but here I don’t because I’m in one of the most magical places on earth (besides @stonecityvermont ) with a man that I adore. I have so much gratitude for many of the opportunities that I’ve had and the people in my life. But there are things that I struggle with, like we all do I was reading today in a book called Regenerative Business by @thedirtyalchemy that those things that really trigger us are those things that we are trying to heal in our lives. This is our unconscious bringing attention to it. A few of the major things that I see in me recently are being very sensitive to what I perceive as me not doing the best possible job or holding up what I say that I will do. Not living up to the expectations of the people I care about and love and disappointing them. It is very important to me to please the people I love and be there for them in every way, so it hurts when I hear that I haven’t done this. And I also know that I often fail to meet this mark and I get defensive about it sometimes. The other thing is that I take things very personally. While I’ve gotten better at this, it still is a struggle for me. I think it ties back to my previous statement. So this book has suggested that I embrace those reactions that I have and love them as a way to healing. This makes sense to me on one level, but how do I embrace the things that I like the least? What do you struggle with, if you want to share? What do you think about this idea?

Elder loves it at Stone City! Within three years, our bushes grew up to 12 feet! I always know when they’re ready to harvest because I hear a lot of bird activity in the orchard. I’m happy to share the very tippy top ones with them and I collect the ones that are lower and within my reach. This week, while winter settles in, I am working on cleaning the stems from all the berries that I had frozen a few months ago and will be making syrup for our guests this weekend. Here is the unglamorous side of running this business and my property, but it’s full of heart. ❤️ This guy (my man) has been amazing this past week - getting me out to the property to do the last few unpleasant tasks before the snow sticks to the ground. These jobs were significant too - moving many loads of wood to the splitter, fixing my tractor, and unpacking and taking the Pebble Tent down. All done together, in the snow and cold (winter is here). Each day he would say, are you ready? My mind would say “no” (feeling overwhelmed and done with things and not wanting to battle the cold and snow) but my 78-year old hero would push me and we’d do it - mostly without arguing 😂 Then we promptly jumped in the hot tub upon returning home ❤️ So much gratitude. This is the home that I built. It is the home that I raised my two children in. It was built with my blood, sweat, and tears. This home has so much meaning for me and represents so much joy and so much struggle. I have so much gratitude that this is the legacy of and for my family. Now I rent this home to younger families and people who are starting out in the community. It means so much to me that there are children being born and raised in this home, the next generation. And that there are young people coming to our community who are passionate and skilled and kind, honest people. And that I’ve connected with them and have them staying in this space that means so much to me. I stopped by there this evening briefly after a few days of a very inspiring conference about inclusion and equity and building a better world, and also a wonderful night in the treehouse with some other women whom I’ve known and loved for many years. And a few weeks ago, I also got to spend a night there with one of my sisters who is visiting from out west, and we hadn’t had that opportunity to connect one on one for a long time or to enjoy this space and this land together. I know I’ve been focusing on gratitude a lot in these posts, but it’s because I can see how much abundance surrounds me, with the land and friends, and loved ones and community. My intention is to continue to build these things and to create the world that I want to see, and I want to live in . And it’s a world that is considerate of the earth and every person and their needs and providing the opportunity for them to grow into their best selves. Thanks for listening ❤️

I have been very quiet on Instagram over the last week because I went to an amazing women’s retreat and then had a sleepover in our Pebble Tent with some old friends, which was an amazing way to end my incredible weekend. This scene shows a very simple moment in my life, but one of the reasons why I love my life so much. It was driving home with our pup Anson and his bestie Birdie, chatting with my partner Bill about what we’ve been up to. I just love my life and where I live and the people that surround me and the work that I do. I really couldn’t ask for more and I am so grateful. The place to be to escape the heat! (Sound on!) Our stream always had enough depth so that you could lay down in spots and submerge your body. But with the flooding the last two years, it created this one deep spot where you can actually float! Probably a few people could float! Those flooding events were crazy - I could hear the boulders moving down the stream, which sounded much like thunder. But now we have this sweet little spot to take a dip, near the sauna!
